rable for the value of thinking about the elastic limits of family engagement. Whereas aspects like orientation and spatial layout were dealt with pragmatically, the anchor of the design is its hallways / passages. They are deliberately organised along the edge of every space in this house to achieve three key things: first, on occassion, to elastically extend the indoors to the outdoors in order to facilitate different kinds of family activites; second, to ensure there is generous diffused lighting to the indoors and; third, to sustain airflow all through the house in order to keep it cool as this is complemented by breezeways through the building to the southern end of the site.
